Abstract:

The article is devoted to the problem of formation of the source base for a complex study of the situation of prisoners of war of Napoleon´s army during their stay in Tambov province after 1812.Mainly published and archival sources, office documents, statistical data, form lists, narrative sources are analyzed.The study of the sources allowed us to present a complete picture of the national and numerical composition of the prisoners of Napoleon´s army, located in the Tambov province since 1812, to trace the biographies of specific people. The novelty of the research is determined by the micro-historical approach to the integrated study of the topic.
