Abstract:

The article examines the Russian historiography of the second half of the XIX–XX centuries devoted to the study of the phenomenon of Joan of Arc. The author analyzes the main approaches and directions of research, indicates periods of increased interest in the life of the national heroine of France and explains when and for what reason her figure disappeared from the attention of historians. Since the end of the XX century and to date the personality and activities of Joan of Arc have again become the subject of rigorous research.
