Abstract:

The features of the development of signs of Russian identity in the historical measure are studied. It is noted that some of them were significantly transformed and even rejected by next political generations (the values of the Russian Empire were denied in the Soviet state, and the values of the USSR– in modern Russia), which are not always taken into account in research on this issue. As a result, after the collapse of the Soviet state a situation of uncertainty in the identity of Russian society emerged, which continues to this day.
