Abstract:

The article is dedicated to the Russian tour of Eliza Rachel, which took place in the theatre season of 1853–1854 years and contributed to the strengtheningof Russian and French cultural ties. Rachel brings to Russia the best roles of classical and modern repertoire.The article discusses some of her theatrical works and analyzes the creative method of the actress, who combined and embodied romantic features in classical images.
