Abstract:

In the article on the basis of a wide range of sources provides a brief sketch of the history of the sect skopcheskoy in Kursk province. An attempt was made to highlight the causes of skopchestvo in Russia, as well as its long-term phenomenon and the reasons for the popularity of extinction.
