Abstract:

This paper deals with the poetry of Michelangelo in the works of Britten and Shostakovich. Studied creative contacts between the two composers, certain points of contact between the music of Britten and Shostakovich, the role of the vocal cycle in the work of each, eventually identified the cause of contact three geniuses: Britten, Shostakovich and Michelangelo.
